As the world’s population grows, so does the demand for biobased food, products, and energy. Advanced biobased systems are needed to meet these demands. To ensure their optimization and cost-effectiveness, these systems require in-depth analyses of the technological, material, and energy inputs and outputs. The BioSystems Analysis Lab (BSAL) uses biosystems engineering concepts and analyses to improve the sustainable production of food, fiber, and fuel.
